7 essential Siargao restaurants in 2026: the high-quality list

Finding high-quality food in Siargao (or anywhere in the Philippines) can be hit or miss. I’ve tried these Siargao restaurants myself, so you don’t have to do the research or waste money on a place that isn’t worth it.

For me, food is an adventure. I’ve eaten my way through more than 70 countries, and over time my standards have only gone up. In the Philippines, I found good food surprisingly hard to come by, which makes the adventure a more careful one.

This isn’t the cheapest country in Southeast Asia, so you can’t just wander into any place and shrug it off if the meal disappoints.

Siargao is quickly becoming one of the Philippines’ food capitals, drawing food creatives from around the world who come to introduce new cuisines. But like many hot destinations, it also has restaurants riding the hype, charging premium prices for food that doesn’t earn them.

If you’re short on time, I’ve done the legwork for you. This list of Siargao restaurants is short, but every place on it is one where I walked out satisfied with both the price and the quality.

1. Alma: best of the best Siargao restaurants

Alma, I would say, is comfort food for anyone missing European standards, which you won’t easily find in the Philippines. Owned by Valencian chef Luis Martinez, this Spanish restaurant is my top pick among the best Siargao restaurants because of its high quality across the board, from the food to the service to the setting.

At first, I was put off by the curbside appeal, since the restaurant sits in a quiet, local neighborhood. But then I understood why. Chef Luis wanted to capture the feel of a Valencian fishermen’s seaside spot, and you really feel it when you dine at Alma, with the boats resting right beside the tables.

The dishes were rooted in Valencian cooking but made with fresh island seafood. I especially enjoyed the seafood paella (rich, smoky, and full of flavor) and the roasted octopus, which was tender and well seasoned. The croquetas were a great start, and the sangria and Mediterranean G&T made it feel like a proper seaside meal.

It’s one of the pricier spots on the island, but the quality and the setting make it worth it!

The best time to dine at Alma is around sunset, when the light over the water makes the whole place glow. Brunch on Friday to Sunday is a good alternative if you’d rather eat in daylight.

Tip: Reserve ahead and ask for a table in the open dining space facing the shore. It’s the best seat in the house.

  • ⏰ Hours: Dinner daily, 5 PM–10 PM, with brunch on Friday–Sunday from 9 AM–2 PM. Apple Maps also shows 5 PM–10 PM every day.
  • ? Price range: About $15-$40 USD per person
  • ?️ Must-try: Lobster paella, mahi mahi confit with potato emulsion, and roasted tomato tartare. I also loved the roasted octopus, croquetas and seafood paella.
  • ⭐ Awards: Tatler Best 2026
  • ? Cash/Card: Cards are accepted
  • ? Reservations: Strongly recommended

2. Happiness: healthy food in Siargao

If you eat clean like me, you know how tricky it is to find fresh, balanced meals among Siargao restaurants. That’s why Happiness’s Mediterranean menu felt like such a relief!

The vibe is cozy and tropical, with bean bag seating and staff who are genuinely warm and attentive, so you can take your time.

I loved the Green Power Bowl, which is packed with fruit, oats, and yogurt, and drizzled with tahini and honey. The shakshuka was as good, light but filling.

Another thing I appreciated is that the menu flags vegetarian, dairy, and fish dishes, so you’re never guessing.

Go in the morning, when breakfast and brunch really shine. Order at the restaurant, then ask if they can bring your food over to the beach bar’s bean bags.

3. TP Food Haus: high-quality Filipino restaurant

Okay I understand that Filipino food is not your favorite, but this is one of the best Siargao restaurants for authentic Filipino food! I ate here almost every day since there was a guaranteed positive experience for a cheap price.

If you’re a budget traveler who refuses to compromise on flavor, TP Food Haus is my happy place. The ambience is a no-frills, turo-turo carinderia: you just point at what looks good, and the food is freshly cooked with solid portions.

I loved how authentic the flavors felt, from adobo and sinigang to bulalo, and the bill stayed ridiculously low, around $2 to $3 USD.

Go right when it opens at 10 AM, when the pots are freshest. Dishes rotate daily, so peek at the pots and ask for the day’s fresh catch.

  • ? Address: General Luna, Siargao (Plus Code Q5M4+JRM)
  • ⏰ Hours: Daily, 10 AM–10 PM. A recent TikTok food guide also says it opens at 10AM
  • ? Price range: $2–$3 USD per dish
  • ?️ Must-try: Bulalo, Beef Steak, Sinigang, and more! Try them all!!!
  • ? Cash/Card: Cash and QR payments; credit cards not accepted
  • ? Reservations: They don’t take reservations but this place is always busy

4. Siargao Hawker: authentic Singaporean restaurant

I love variety when I travel, but after a while I still crave hawker food. That’s why Siargao Hawker hit the spot among Siargao restaurants, especially if you’re looking for Asian or Chinese-style comfort food.

I learned the owner is Singaporean, which helps keep the flavors authentic, and he’s happy to walk you through the menu. The place is beautifully designed and sits right by Jacking Horse.

My favorites were the fragrant Katong laksa, rich beef rendang, char siew wonton mee, and chicken-mushroom dumplings with a ginger-lime dip. The portions were generous, so come hungry! I finished with the pomelo mango sago.

Go at 5 PM when it opens, before the evening crowd, and skip Tuesdays in case it’s closed. If you like spicy food, ask for extra sambal, since the laksa is milder than in Singapore.

  • ? Address: Jacking Horse, Cloud 9 Dr, Brgy. Catangnan, General Luna, 8419 Surigao del Norte
  • ⏰ Hours: Dinner only, from 5 PM
  • ? Price range: About $8–$16 USD per person including a starter or drink
  • ?️ Must-try: Katong Laksa, Beef Rendang, mushroom dumplings, and chili prawn rice. I also loved the Hainanese chicken rice!!!
  • ? Cash/Card: Cash, card, QR payments
  • ? Reservations: Not needed, since it’s casual and walk-in

5. Bravo: best restaurant in Siargao for families

I spent the whole day at Bravo, from 10 AM to 5 PM, with my 2-year-old son and my husband. We weren’t the only ones: there were plenty of kids around, so it’s really a place where the whole family can enjoy.

We ate and drank there all day, and pool use was only $9 USD (consumable), so we could swim between meals. That’s why Bravo is my pick among family-friendly Siargao restaurants!

Bravo’s open-air, bahay kubo-inspired setting sits right on the beach, with ocean and lagoon views that suit families. The food is Spanish at heart with international favorites, and vegetarian options are available.

We loved the tuna poke bowl and the paella, and everything felt fresh. Come by 10 AM, as I did, to claim a good table before the pool area fills up.

The main pool has little shade, so bring a sun hat and rash guard for your little ones, and save the 3 PM happy hour for the parents while the kids play with other kids!

  • ? Address: Tourism Road, Barangay 5, General Luna, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte
  • ⏰ Hours: Daily, 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • ? Price range: About $10–$24 USD per person
  • ?️ Must-try: Bravo Siargao serves authentic Spanish dishes along with international options
  • ? Cash/Card: Cash, card, and QR payments
  • ? Reservations: Recommended for groups and peak times.

6. CEV: best ceviche & kilawin restaurant in Siargao

CEV has a big buzz because Filipino celebrities promote it, so I went to see if the hype was real. It did not disappoint! But as a Mexican and someone who has spent many years in Peru (ceviche countries), I noticed they lean more toward Peruvian-style ceviche, with ingredients like corn and sweet potato.

If you love seafood, it’s one of the best Siargao restaurants for fresh, creative ceviche and kinilaw, even if it’s not what you’d find in Mexico.

CEV is a relaxed, no-fuss shack just meters from the shore, with a garden where you can sip a cocktail while you wait for a table.

The fish is impressively fresh, caught that day, and the Pacifico ceviche with coconut-milk leche de tigre, roasted corn, and sweet potato was my favorite, followed by the General Luna kinilaw.

Order at the bar and ask the chef about the grilled fish belly or panga, since they’re limited orders and sell out.

  • ? Address: Tourism Road, Brgy. Catangnan (beside Kudo Surf), General Luna, Siargao
  • ⏰ Hours: 12 PM–3 PM and 5:30 PM–9 PM
  • ? Price range: About $8–$16 USD per person
  • ?️ Must-try: Pacifico, General Luna, and the grilled fish belly. Order the eggplant as a side dish
  • ⭐ Awards: Tatler Best 2025
  • ? Cash/Card: Cash, card and QR payments
  • ? Reservations: Strongly recommended/required
